Birth Cirtificate

A birth certificate is a vital document that records the birth of a person and is an important identity document. It's the first step in establishing a child's identity and is required for many purposes, including: 

  • Admission to school
  • Proof of age for employment
  • Proof of age for marriage
  • Establishing parentage
  • Establishing age for enrollment in Electoral Rolls
  • Establishing age for insurance purposes
  • Registering in National Population Register (NPR)

In Madhya Pradesh, it's mandatory to register the birth of every child within 21 days of the birth. You can apply for a birth certificate online through the ULB portal. The process involves: 

  1. Filling out the Birth Registration Form
  2. Attaching a scanned copy of supporting documents
  3. Submitting the application form online
  4. Making an online payment
  5. Collecting the Birth Registration Certificate from the ward office along with the hospital discharge card and other supporting documents

Death certificate 

A death certificate is a document that provides details about the date, cause, and certainty of a death. It is issued to the deceased's closest relatives and is used for a variety of purposes, including: 

  • Proving the date and time of death
  • Settling property disputes
  • Authorizing the death registration
  • Freeing the deceased from social, judicial, and governmental obligations
  • Insuring the family and other benefits

In India, the Birth and Death Act of 1969 requires citizens to register deaths. The process for obtaining a death certificate is as follows: 

  1. Register the death within 21 days of the event
  2. Fill out the application form, which can be obtained from the Local Body Authorities or the Registrar of the Area
  3. Submit the application form and required documents
  4. Pay the required fee
  5. Receive the death certificate after verification

If the death is registered after the 21-day period, a non-objection certificate (NOC) may be required. 

In Madhya Pradesh, you can apply for a death certificate online through the MP e-Nagar Palika Portal. If the death occurred in a hospital, the hospital can fill out the death form online and submit it on behalf of the applicant. 

Domicile certificate

A domicile certificate is a legal document that proves a person's permanent residence in a state or Union Territory (UT) of India. It's issued by the state government and is required to access government schemes, scholarships, and educational benefits. 

Income Certificate

Documents Required for Income Certificate

The documents required for obtaining the income certificate may vary from one state to another. The common list of documents required for obtaining the income certificate are:

  • ID proof such as Voter ID card, Aadhaar card, driving licence, passport or photo identity card issued by the Central Government or a state government.
  • Address proof such as Voter ID card, Aadhaar card, passport, driver’s licence or any authorised document that is considered to be address proof by Central Government or a state government.
  • Passport size colour photograph.
  • Ration card (BPL) or National Food Security Card. (if applicable)
  • Signed self-declaration from applicant/head of family.

Additional documents such as expenditure proof may also need to be submitted depending on the individual requirement as provided by the state government/union territory.

Validity of the Income Certificate

The income certificate is valid for the financial year mentioned in the certificate. Thus, the certificate needs to be renewed every financial year in order to ensure validity. Also, the old certificate might be required as proof for the issue of an updated income certificate.

Caste Certificate 

A caste certificate is a legal document that proves a person's caste and is required to access certain benefits and opportunities. It's issued to people belonging to historically marginalized groups, such as the Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and Other Backward Classes (OBCs). 

The Indian government started the caste certificate as part of the "Indian System of Protective Discrimination". This system aims to give special privileges to these groups so they can progress at the same pace as the rest of the population. Some of the privileges include: 

  • Reservations in education, jobs, and legislative positions
  • Waiving off some or all school and college admission fees
  • Relaxation of upper age limits for certain jobs

 

 

Migration Certificate

 

A migration certificate is an official document that verifies a student's academic record and allows them to transfer to a new institution. It's issued by a student's previous educational institution after they complete a course or program. 

A migration certificate is especially useful for students who want to: 

  • Continue their studies in another state or abroad
  • Switch from one board to another, such as from ICSE to CBSE
  • Enroll in a school of a different board

Marriage Registration

A marriage registration certificate is a legal document that serves as proof that a couple is married. It can be used for a variety of purposes, such as: Obtaining a passport, Changing a maiden name, Buying property, Applying for a spouse visa, and Making an insurance claim. 

In India, marriages can be registered under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 or the Special Marriage Act, 1954. The act used depends on the religions of the couple. 

To register a marriage in Madhya Pradesh, you can: 

  1. Fill out the Marriage Registration Form online at the eNagarPalika portal
  2. Attach scanned copies of supporting documents
  3. Submit the form and make payment online
  4. Submit the payment receipt and original supporting documents at the ward office
